FITCHBURG— A Gardner resident was arrested Thursday for allegedly entering the Family Federal Savings Bank at around 9:10 Thursday morning and placing a note on a tellers counter demanding money. Christopher L. Kimball, 28, of 139 Main St. allegedly then fled the bank without taking any money. Police responded to a 911 call from the bank which described the suspect as a white man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a black hat. In the ensuing search, police officers allegedly saw Mr. Kimball running on nearby railroad tracks. He was arrested without incident and brought to Fitchburg Police Headquarters. According to an official in the clerks office at Fitchburg’s District Court, Mr. Kimball was charged with one count of unarmed robbery and ordered held on $5,000 cash bail at his arraignment Thursday. Mr. Kimball is ordered to return to court May 15 for a pretrial hearing. oboss@thegardnernews.com |
